PM Modi revealed and bestows astronaut wings to the astronaut designated for Gaganyaan Mission

Prime Minister of India shree Narerendra Modi revealed and bestows astronaut wings to the astronaut designated for Gaganyaan Mission today at Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) at Thiruvananthapuram.

All the four astronaut designated for Gaganyaan Mission have been renowned fighter pilot of Indian Air Force. And their names are 1. Group Captain Prashanth balakrishnan Nair, 2. Group Captain Ajit Krishnan, 3. Group Captain Angad Pratap and 4. Wing Commander Shubhanshu Shukla.

The aim of the Gaganyaan Mission is to launched a three member crew into the lower orbit of the Earth and bring them back on Earth after three days.

During his speech PM Modi told :- It was a very special moment for him to bestows astronaut wings to the four Indian astronauts. They are not just four names or four people. They are four powers who will take the hopes, aspirations and optimisms of 140 crore Indians into space.

Prime Minister Modi also said that “After 40 years an Indian is going into the Space. But this time, the Timing, the Countdown and Rocket belongs to us”. Earlier Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma Veteran of Indian Air Force went to the space in 1984 as part of Soviet Mission.
